General Regulations
I. Abide by Proboards Terms of Service. Everyone that signs up with an account on Pokemonsters Live, has to agree to adhere to the proboards ToS. With that being said, everyone should be roughly familiar with their ToS, and should adhere to them during their time on the site. Anyone found in violation of this may be warned, and offensive content will be removed immediately.
II. The Site is rates PG-13. Specifically, it has a medium rating. Swearing is allowed (to a point), mild sexual innuendo and references are permitted so long as there is no explicit sexual content, and mild to explicit violence is permitted, but not extreme violence. Roughly, we're a L2-S1-V2 site. That being said, members of the forum should be at least thirteen years of age.
III. Plagiarism is not allowed. While members may "show off" artwork (or written works) that they like, they are expected cite their sources and/or credit the original author/artist of the work, if they did not create it themselves. Artwork or written works erroneously credited to a member who did not create the original piece may be warned, and find their content removed/edited to reflect correctly so.
IV. Inactive Accounts will be removed. An inactive account is an account that has 0 posts overall and it over a month old, or an account that hasn't been active in long time (3+ months) without a Farewell thread announcing their hiatus. Inactive accounts without posts will be removed. Older accounts will be PM'd, emailed, or otherwise have an attempt at "reaching out" to the owner, before it's removal. In most cases, only IC accounts associated with the account may be removed - and in rare cases, truly inactive accounts will be removed.
V. Do not harass members. Simply put. You will be banned, your account will be removed, and all offensive posts will be taken down if you are using an account to purposefully harass other members of the site. You may be warned, depending on the severity and intent - obvious posts or otherwise harassing messages can result in an immediate temporary or permanent ban even for the first offense.
Roleplaying Regulations
VI. We encourage IC Accounts. Usually, it is easier to track characters through an IC account. Proboards also allows you to track all of your accounts, to make it easier as well. We generally encourage members to use a unique IC Account for each character, and to have one main, OOC account for everything else. We do not enforce this however - we merely encourage it.
VII. No God-Modding or Power-Playing This basically means that you cannot control another person's character. That means you cannot state what they are doing, what they are thinking, what they will say, or how they will react to or with your character (or any other characters).
VIII. New Characters are beginner trainers. All new characters start out as a beginner trainer. They only need five GYM badges to complete the GYM quests, however, and move on to the Elite Four. You create a character first, then you should head to the Professor's Lab to get your first Pokemon. Professor Brambles doesn't have a preference, and will often throw just about any starter Pokemon out there (level 5) as a choice, but his assistance usually have their preferences. Ashley, personally, loves normal, water, and ice types. Kinsley loves rock, ground, and poison types. And Victoria prefers flying, fire, and electric types. You may request the Assistant OOCly for your character, but not the Pokemon you want.
IX. Multiple Posts Are Allowed. Posts are done in a "by posting" order. The threads you created before others are typically considered to have occurred. However, it's a loose basic understanding - and anything that hasn't happened in thread A before thread B's creation cannot later be added to Thread B. The only difference are threads with the GYM Leaders - as you can only have one GYM Battle thread per character.
V. Battles are Done One-on-One. Pokemon battles are done on a one-on-one basis, for the easiest mode of gameplay. That means that each side can only use a single Pokemon at a time.
VI. We have a roughly 100 word reply rule. This means that while you're in character, we want you to strive to post at least 100 words in your IC replies. Quality is definitely MORE important than quantity, however, and we can understand when muse is fading. However, we still expect most of the IC posts to be at least 100 words or better.
